VLS Technologies (formerly Velo Acciai, Italy) produces pressure leaf filters for beverage, wine, spirits, and food applications. Their FVV-BVA series is the brewery-execution version of the vertical kieselguhr (diatomaceous earth) filter.

Standalone wheeled unit — no permanent installation required. Portable.

Model FV10VA (10 = 10 m² filter area), Serial FV000106, manufactured 2013.

FVV-BVA Beer Execution - Standard Components

-Sanitary execution throughout: smooth weldings, no stagnant areas, convex dosing tank bottom, silicon gaskets

-Filter chamber with pressure gauge, pressure switch, dished lid with clamps, large-diameter bottom valve for cake discharge

-Electric motor vibrator for dry cake discharge

-Breather device positioned at top of filter chamber — prevents air contact with beer; breather pipe in stainless steel with tubular sightglass and safety valve

-Dosing tank for filter aid preparation with sanitary gate agitator and membrane dosing pump (adjustable flow, stainless steel head)

-CO2 pressurization prearrangement: DIN DN40 connection with porous candle on shell, 40 mm from bottom

-De-aerated water connection: DIN DN25 male part on dosing lid

-Pre-filter in dosing tank — suction pipe connects dosing tank to pre-filter, cleaning liquid from large impurities before entry

-Centrifugal feeding pump in AISI 304 — sanitary type, inox impeller, body demountable with clamp, complete with pre-filter and total drainage

-Breather beer device on head pump

-Butterfly valves throughout; obturator-type valve for feeding flow regulation

-DIN 11851 sanitary connections

-Pressurization device with interception valve

-Product inlet: two butterfly valves, service valves, lighted sightglass

-Product outlet: two butterfly valves, service valves, flow rate indicator, lighted sightglass, sample valve, additional pressure gauge on filtrate pipe

-Filter washing pipes with nozzles for screen washing

-Filter sectors: AISI 304, 80-micron screens in AISI 316

-Control board: polyester reinforced with fiberglass, self-extinguishing, IP65 protection

-Stainless steel trolley on wheels for cake collection
